Panasonic has officially announced a video-oriented camera offering high quality and resolution – the Lumix S1H, capable of recording 6K video at 24 frames per second. This is the new Lumix S lineup that debuted at Photokina last year.
Lumix S1H is equipped with a sensor measuring 35.6 x 23.8 mm with a resolution of 24.2 MP with a wide dynamic range of 14+ steps. The camera implements image stabilization by shifting the sensor, compensating for the shift in five degrees of freedom. Stabilization works when taking photos and videos. The sensitivity range ISO 100-25600 is available, expandable to ISO 150-51200. The data is processed by the Venus Engine processor.
The camera shutter is capable of measuring shutter speeds up to 1/8000 s. Shutter speed – up to 1/320 s. S1 uses contrast autofocus. Burst speed with tracking focusing is 6 fps, with fixed focus – 9 fps. The recognition functions of faces, eyes and even the pupil of the eye are implemented. Artificial intelligence technology allows you to detect people and fast-moving animals, including dogs, cats and birds, in the frame and continue to track them even when they turn their backs to the camera.
The new Panasonic is equipped with an OLED electronic viewfinder with a resolution of 5.76 million pixels with a refresh rate of up to 120 fps, response time less than 5 ms and a contrast ratio of 10,000: 1. In addition, there is a movable touchscreen LCD with a resolution of 2.1 million pixels. On the top panel is an auxiliary LCD display that allows you to quickly check the settings.
Well, perhaps the most important thing in the new product. Lumix S1H is the world’s first full-frame camera with support for recording 6K / 24p with an aspect ratio of 3: 2 or 5.9K / 30p in a more familiar 16: 9 video format. An important opportunity can be considered recording 10-bit video in 4K at a frequency of 60 frames / s and FullHD – at 180 fps. S1H has no time limit for video recording, so the user should only consider the capacity of the memory card and the battery charge.
The camera uses the existing Leica L-Mount. You can use XQD and SD (UHS-II) memory cards to record footage; the case has a slot for both formats. The main body is a cast frame made of magnesium alloy. Lumix S1H is protected from dust and splashes, maintain its operability at low temperatures up to -10 ° С.
The camera has a USB 3.1 interface with support for Power Delivery. Includes cable with USB Type-C connector. There are inputs for an external microphone and headphones, wireless interfaces Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.2. Plus, remote control from a mobile device is supported.
The price of the Panasonic Lumix S1H is $ 4000, the novelty will arrive on the shelves in the fall.
